Labor and Delivery Nurse

Overview

• Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 4x12 hours
• Hours per week: 48
• Contract length: 20 weeks

Role Summary

• Must be comfortable working in LDRP and rotating between labor, triage, and mother-baby postpartum care.
• Postpartum nurses care for 3–4 couplets; labor assignments are 1–2 patients.
• Mother-baby coverage is also part of the role.
• On-call hours are based on staffing.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum experience
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• AWHONN
• FHM
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• OB surgical recovery for C-section care

Scheduling Notes

• On-call time is typically 16–20 hours in a 6-week schedule.
• Some staff may choose extra weekend and weekday shifts instead of call.
