Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract
Location: Rochester, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Available to work every other holiday, if needed
Locals: RNs within 75 miles are not accepted
Job Summary
Provide nursing care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with responsibilities including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, IV therapy, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions. Floating within skillset may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience in an acute care setting, with acute care experience within the past 6 months
- Ability to float within skillset
Unit Details
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
- Unit assignment: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
- Scrub color: Navy blue and white combinations
- Floating: Required within skillset
Scheduling and Policies
- Submit time-off and special scheduling requests upon application
- Client may cancel up to three shifts during the contract without penalty
Health and Compliance Requirements
Candidates must complete the following within 5 days of contract signing (and maintain as required):
- Physical exam (within 1 year)
- Fit mask test (annual)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
- Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Background and Verification
- 7-year criminal background check (including felony, SSN trace, sex offender registry, education verification) within 3 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
- Foreign education equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Employment verification of at least 2 past jobs (Aya direct candidates)
- References: 2 within 3 years (Aya only)
- State-specific checks including sex offender registry and Medicaid exclusion list
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s license or state ID)
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and parking pass form
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Prior travel experience is not required
- Must be able to float within skillset
- Must be available for every other weekend and holiday shifts as needed
