Job Opportunity: Oncology Chemo Certified Registered Nurse

Location: Jupiter, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Night shift position (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Inpatient Med/Oncology unit
• Patient population includes both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medical patients
• Unit requires a certain number of chemo-certified RNs on every shift

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) chemotherapy certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications & Competencies

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with minimum passing score of 80% (or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs
• Physical exam within 6 months to 1 year of start date
• Drug screening: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days to 1 year of start date
• Immunizations and titers as applicable, including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step TB skin test or equivalent within 3 months acceptable)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: proof of immunity or vaccination per birth year guidelines
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccination series, or declination with negative titer
  • Varicella: titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1 and fully vaccinated dose 2 if applicable); exemptions accepted with proper documentation

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Standard background check including 7-year history and sex offender registry
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start; must be current and on file
• Facility-specific onboarding documents and health stream modules completed during first week

  • 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles
• Skills checklist required annually
