Job Opportunity: RN Surgery

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Rotating shifts, 4x10 hour shifts (9:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM), flexible based on OR volume
• Call: Required based on department needs, including holiday call rotating with regular staff
• Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
  • Robotic surgery experience and scrub nurse experience are helpful
  • Prior travel experience required
• Additional Duties: May need to float onsite within skill set or to nearby sites within 40 miles if needed
• Systems: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• At least 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Prior travel experience (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
• Robotic surgery experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Professional credentials including current license verification and resume/profile submission
• Background checks and employment verifications as required
• Health and immunization documentation including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive)
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
• Fit testing for respiratory protection (3M 1860 or 1870+ masks) required annually
• Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
• Completion of specialty and core competency exams with minimum passing scores
• Completion of Epic test-out and training checklist
• Badge photo (headshot with white or blue background)

Additional Notes

• Must be able to meet all credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to start
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and call schedules
• Ability to float to other nearby sites as needed within skill set
