Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: No weekends required
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: No floating outside of like units
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Radius Rule: Must live within 60 miles
- Locals: Accepted on a case-by-case basis
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of wound care experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Facility Highlights

- Parking costs apply only nights and weekends (one-time $20 parking pass)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Copy of Driver’s License and Social Security Card
- Employment application/resume including all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including multiple national and state registries
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
- Nursys verification for RN license
- Work history verification for last 3 clinical employers (or as many as applicable)
- Color blindness test prior to start
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exam required (Peds OR comp exam preferred if applicable)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask (O&M Halyard FLUIDSHIELD or 3M Aura 1870+) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if low/negative titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters if low/negative titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest x-ray if prior positive
- Annual TB questionnaire
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (August 1 – March 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Orientation & Facility Specifics
- Completion of orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) prior to start; must be done on a computer, not a phone
- First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay platform access provided after clearance
- Upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into OurDay platform
- Passport-style badge photo required by Wednesday prior to start (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire, no hats or sunglasses)
Additional Notes
- Floating only to like units within the facility
- Radiation badge not required for this position
- No on-call or weekend shifts required
- Facility provides scrubs
- Prior travel experience is not required for this role
