Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Unit Details

  • Assess, evaluate, and drive patient discharge plans.
  • Coordinate services to ensure appropriate level of care.
  • Initiate, evaluate, and re-evaluate treatment plans daily.
  • Monitor patient progress and length of stay; identify discharge barriers.
  • Follow Medicare regulatory guidelines regarding patient choice, IMM notices, and MOONS.
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
  • No weekend or on-call requirements.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty.
  • Unit does not accept first-time travelers (prior travel experience required).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
  • Minimum of 3 years of case management experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Experience as a Care Manager.

Compliance & Screening

  • Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling.
  • Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit before final approval.
  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
  • Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day).

Health & Background Requirements

  • Background check required within 30 days of start; must include county, national, sex offender, criminal, and education verifications. Cannot start with background pending.
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start required (not required by client but by agency).
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; if past positive, must provide proof and negative chest x-ray within 6 months. TB questionnaire required annually.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented proof:
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella.
    • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
    • Flu vaccine or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable.

Documentation & Other Requirements

  • Skills checklist updated within 12 months, verified annually.
  • Verification of most recent work history required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.
  • Two clinical references required.
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start.

  • Locals accepted at the same rate.
  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
  • Privileging and vaccine declination forms apply only to specific surgical specialties, not this role.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with prior travel contract experience seeking a day-shift case management role focused on discharge planning and care coordination in a hospital setting.
