Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cath Lab
  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Average Daily Census: 25 patients in a 5-room unit
  • Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per contract
  • On-Call: Required as needed
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
  • Guaranteed Hours: Subject to client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience, minimum 1 year, within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Cerner electronic health record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
  • State-specific criminal and offender registry searches within 30 days of start
  • Primary source verification of licenses and certifications
  • Competency exam required for clinical candidates
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs scheduled within 7 days of contract signing
  • Fit mask test required (3M 1860 small/regular, 1870, or 1870+ masks acceptable)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or documented immunity required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
  • Badge photo required within one week of contract signing
  • Code of Conduct acknowledgment within 7 days of contract signing
  • Parking permit form to be completed within 7 days of contract signing (if applicable)
  • References: 2 professional references required

Additional Notes

  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
  • Fingerprinting must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start (for candidates without IL license)
  • First-time travel nurses accepted for this position

This position is ideal for a Cath Lab RN with at least one year of specialized experience, comfortable with procedural sedation and cardiac catheterization procedures, and able to work a day shift schedule with weekend and on-call responsibilities.
