Ultrasound Tech - General

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract assignment in New Haven, Connecticut
  • 8-week duration
  • Night shift: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Floating to sister facilities may be required
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

  • Ultrasound Technologist (2 years of experience)
  • Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ARDMS
  • RVT
  • Experience with PHILLIPS ultrasound equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARDMS OB certification

Schedule / Work Expectations

  • No on-call requirement
  • RTO greater than 7 days requires approval

Compliance / Onboarding

  • Photo ID matching legal name required on first day
  • Background check and education verification required
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit test within 12 months of start and updated annually
  • TB questionnaire required annually
  • Drug screen required within 12 months of start
  • Employment history must cover the last 7 years with no gaps greater than 90 days
  • Work history verification required for the last 7 years for start dates on or after 8/2/2024
  • Prior radiation exposure attestation required for Ultrasound Tech candidates

  • Epic charting is used
  • Parking is available for $125/month

Pros

Always given very easy assignments. Their MICU is combined with the MICU stepdown so travelers were put in stepdown once a week but it’s a 1:3 ratio there and assignments were fair

Very large unit so hard to get to know everyone/find people to help sometimes
