NICU Registered Nurse

  • Travel/Contract
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract

Overview

  • Level II NICU admissions and normal newborn care
  • Care for infants 32 weeks or greater
  • Float as needed
  • May attend vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
  • Uses CPAP/BiPap, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps
  • NICU nurses are not expected to care for mother-baby couplets unless they already have the skill and competencies

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Washington
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
  • CLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Notes

  • Previous permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months before qualifying for a travel position
  • Float policy acknowledgment is required
