Role Overview

• Registered Nurse (RN) temp assignment in Des Moines, Iowa.
• 13-week contract.
• Days shift.

Unit Details

• Med surg unit with overflow of post-op surgical hips/knees and psych patients.
• 24 beds.
• Patient ratio: 4-5:1.
• Tele tech unit monitoring: Remote.
• Uses EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience).
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in Charge roles.
• Driver's License.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience caring for psych patients.
• Precept experience.
• Reference/check from within the last 24 months.

Scheduling Notes

• No blocked shifts.
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed.
• May be asked to extend past the initial 13-week contract.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Traveler will float across all campuses: Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist.
