Labor and Delivery RN Travel Assignment

• 36 hours per week
• 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Women’s Services unit
• Labor and delivery setting with postpartum and OB emergency care
• 9 labor and delivery beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and 3 OBED beds
• Patient ratio: 1–2
• Floating may include mother/baby or other departments as needed

Schedule

• 4 weekend shifts per month

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS
• AWHONN
• BLS
• NRP
• Fetal Monitoring Assessment

Helpful Experience or Skills

• Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities
• Spinning Babies knowledge is helpful
• STABLE knowledge is helpful

Procedures / Clinical Exposure

• Circulating in OR
• IUPC
• FSE
• Magnesium sulfate
• Postpartum hemorrhage management, including JADA system
• Nitrous oxide

Additional Unit Notes

• Laborist team model with 24/7 midwives
• Dedicated CRNA and OB on call
• Couplet care in postpartum to keep newborn at bedside and support breastfeeding
• Donor milk available when needed
• 8-bed level 2 NICU with dedicated NNP coverage 24/7
• NNP available for high-risk deliveries
