Registered Nurse (ER) - Lakewood, Colorado

Job Details

• Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
• Location: Lakewood, Colorado
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12 hours per shift, approximately 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 6-week schedule with every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts depending on RN need; clinicians must be in-state for orientation week even if some modules are remote
• Floating: Required between 4 metro sites (Lakewood, Golden, Arvada, Indian Peaks)
• Call/Standby: None
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; CommonSpirit branded tops/jackets allowed

Work Environment

• Free-standing Emergency/Urgent Care Center with onsite x-ray, CT, and lab
• Independent operation without hospital resources; requires autonomy and versatility
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and social work environment
• No Medical Assistants or CNAs; CT Techs assist with lab draws, EKGs, room cleaning, and other tasks

Patient Population & Volume

• 12 beds/rooms
• Average 45 to 65 patients per day
• Patient types include urgent care and emergency cases such as stroke, cardiac arrest, simple traumas, substance misuse, and pediatrics
• Average providers per day: 1 ER attending physician

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Experience Requirements

• Prefer 3 years of ER experience with adults and pediatric patients
• Experience in free-standing ER or critical access ER preferred but not required
• Stand-alone lab experience is a plus

Job Duties

• Provide emergency and urgent care nursing
• Perform unit chores
• Run on-site labs
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be within a 60-mile radius
• Holidays vary based on assignment and facility needs; discuss specific holiday requests prior to offer
• Must be a team player, adaptable, and able to work independently
