PEDS Critical Care Float

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Mission Viejo, California
• Night shift: 3x12s, 19:00–7:00
• Start date: 11/9 only
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Home unit: NICU
• Float scope: NICU, PICU, PEDS
• Weekend expectation: 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
• RTO limit: 5 days maximum; no holiday RTO accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• 5 years of Critical Care Float experience
• Critical Care Float experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• Experience with mechanical ventilation 2-3 times per week
• Experience with extremely low birth weight (ELBW) population including 22-24 weeks gestation
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
• Pediatrics experience

Unit Details

• NICU: 22-bed Level III unit caring for preterm infants as early as 22+ weeks, respiratory distress, hyperbilirubinemia, IDM/poor feeders, failure to thrive, and hypoglycemia
• PICU: 8-bed Level II unit with traumas, respiratory diagnoses, ingestions, and some surgical cases
• Pediatrics: 24-bed general med/surg unit with an embedded Eating Disorder Stabilization Program and long-term EEG program
