Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Contract

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Variable (Operating hours 06:45 to 23:15, Monday through Friday)

Scheduled for 40 hours per week (possibility of 32 hours during holidays)
Call coverage 24/7, assigned 1-2 times per week plus up to 2 weekends per month
Must be within a 30-minute radius of the hospital for call-back

Job Responsibilities

Circulate cases independently for a variety of procedures including General, Orthopedic, Vascular, Ophthalmic, Urology, ENT, Endoscopy, Robotic, Obstetrics, and Gynecology
Assist with turnover cleaning and patient transport as needed
Schedule cases
Use equipment such as Meditech and PYXIS
Orientation on day shift for up to 1 week (or as directed by manager)
Complete a minimum of 39 shifts during the contract if requested time off is approved

Unit Information

Small but busy and efficient Operating Room with 6 OR suites plus 1 dedicated to C-sections
Typically 4 to 6 rooms running simultaneously
Scrubs are provided

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification
Experience in Orthopedics, Vascular Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, ENT Surgery, Endoscopy, and OB/GYN

Additional Notes

Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday
Do not accept the start date if unable to arrive on time

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
