Registered Nurse – Medical Unit (Night Shift)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Night shift position on a medical unit with a 13-week contract.
Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation.
Must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days.
No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
May float to other units including Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit.

Unit Details

Medical unit with 77 beds.
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 during day and evening shifts, 1:8 at night.
Equipment used: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes.
Professional nursing attire required.
Department-specific orientation and training provided.
Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii
Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS certification
ACLS certification

Additional Information

Orientation time provided for each unit.
Candidate must be able to attend employee health clearance appointment prior to contract start.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
