Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2-3 for adults
Common Patient Diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress
Orientation: 1 shift of unit-specific orientation
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Minimum of 2 holidays during contract
Floating: Typically to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or occasionally MedSurg with typical ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
Scheduling: Self-scheduling available for core staff and travelers; block scheduling generally not approved except possibly weekends only
Call Back: If placed on call and called back in, must arrive within 30 minutes

RNs are required to titrate drips, including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips (monitor brand: GE) and document findings
Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators
Work alongside respiratory therapists and nurse aides as needed

Must have a valid driver’s license at time of submission; candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility
Candidates may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with a specific health system (CommonSpirit, CHI, Dignity)
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will result in contract termination
RN candidates must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%; the exam is open book with resources provided
Return to work (RTO) must be within 7 days or less for this 13-week contract; no additional RTO extensions will be approved
Weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday
Nurse aides and healthcare support techs assist based on census and patient needs
