NICU Registered Nurse

Overview

  • 13-week travel assignment
  • 12-hour day shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Location: Nampa, Idaho

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • 3 years of NICU experience
  • BLS certification
  • NRP certification
  • STABLE certification
  • Must be able to attend deliveries, stabilize newborns, perform newborn assessments, and attend C-sections
  • Must be able to float to NICU or sitter assignments across multiple sites in the area

Unit Details

  • Level II NICU
  • 8 beds
  • Typical patients include infants 32 weeks and greater, with respiratory distress, feeding/growing needs, hypoglycemia, and NAS scoring/opioid withdrawal
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
  • Neonatal NP available 24/7
  • Continuous centralized monitoring in use
  • NICU CPAP available; ventilated patients are transferred to a higher-level NICU

Schedule and Assignment Notes

  • No call required
  • No minimum weekend requirement
  • Holiday coverage may be needed based on unit needs
  • Travelers should not expect guaranteed block scheduling
  • 3 days of unit orientation are provided
  • Compliance tasks must be completed before start

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Hospital-issued scrubs are required
  • Acrylic or gel nails are not allowed
  • Radius rule applies for candidate residence verification
