Unit Details

• Acute Care Med Surg unit
• 36 beds
• Nurse to patient ratios: RN/LPN 6:1, CNA 12:1
• EMR system: Meditech
• Hospitalist available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
• IV team not available onsite; PICC team consults as needed
• Charge nurse and nurse aides present

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p)
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Occasional floating
• Floor-specific orientation: 3 shifts

Patient Population / Common Diagnoses

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
• Pneumonia
• Renal Failure
• Sickle Cell Crisis
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Bariatric Surgery
• Altered Mental Status (AMS)
• Sepsis

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
