Overview
- Travel assignment in Nashville, Tennessee
- Unit: 6th, Post-Op Med/Surg
- 34 beds
- Patient ratio: 6:1
- Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- IV insertion skills
- Experience with wound care
- Experience with NG tubes
- Experience with surgical drains
- Experience with chest tubes
Unit Details
- Tech support available on day shift and night shift
- Unit secretary available 7a-7p
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Floating: contract labor is first to float; rotation used when multiple contract staff are scheduled
- Requested skills include Med/Surg experience, prioritizing care, multitasking, starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- Dress code: navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
