Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in a 17-18 bed Med Surg unit within a hospital that includes specialized centers such as Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and a Level 3 NICU.
Unit patient population includes adult and geriatric patients.
Common diagnoses treated include Pneumonia, COPD, CHF, CVA, and Cancer.
Float requirements include coverage across all areas of the facility.
No call requirements.
Electronic Health Record (EHR) system used: Cerner (experience with Cerner is required).
Patient ratio approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Additional Information

Dress code allows any scrub color; no unacceptable attire specified.
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

This position is ideal for experienced Med Surg RNs comfortable with adult and geriatric patient populations and proficient in Cerner EHR.
