Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling
• Full- and part-time staff are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required
• Call or standby requirement is determined by the nurse manager
• May float within Zone 3 if there is an extreme need
• First to float
• Navy blue scrubs

• Separate psych/seclusion rooms: Yes

• RT is in the ER 24/7 and handles ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs
• RT equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Phlebotomy draws labs and RNs also draw labs
• X-ray or CT availability is shift dependent

• No separate triage area
• No separate holding area in the ER; ER holds are intermixed
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
• Common drips include cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
