Overview

• Location: Lafayette, Colorado
• Schedule: Fri 0730-2000, Sat-Sun 0900-2130
• On call: rotating call and assigned holidays
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
• ARRT (R)
• CT Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of CT Technologist experience
• CT imaging techniques and protocols
• Contrast administration

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT(R)(CT)
• Fluoroscopy certification for caregivers hired in this role in Colorado
• Radiation badge provided by supplier preferred
• 1-2 years of CT experience
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
• 1-2 years of work experience in CT experience in a hospital setting

Role Summary

• Performs CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
• Ensures proper patient identification and order verification
• Prepares patients for exams, provides patient education, and addresses patient or family concerns
• Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment
• Completes studies within acceptable time limitations without compromising patient care or exam quality
• Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other providers after procedures
• Practices infection control and sterile techniques
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures, adverse reactions, and incidents
• Follows protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, consents, QC program, and reporting equipment failures or problems
• Administers contrast media under physician and radiologist supervision as ordered
• Stays current with CT technology, techniques, and protocols through continuing education and professional development
• Assists and instructs students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment
