Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment requiring ARRT(R) certification and 1-2 years of CT and acute care experience.

Details

• Computed Tomography department setting
• 12-hour day shifts: Friday 0730-2000, Saturday-Sunday 0900-2130
• 36 hours per week across 3 days
• Rotating call and assigned holidays required
• Uses CT equipment, contrast injector systems, and electronic imaging systems
• Epic charting system used
• Radiation badge required, typically provided by the facility

Requirements

• ARRT(R) certification required
• ARRT(R)(CT) certification preferred
• BLS (AHA) certification required and must not expire prior to start
• Associate degree required
• 1-2 years of CT and acute care experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Fluoroscopy certification preferred for Colorado-based positions
• Strong understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency
• Proficiency in CT imaging techniques and protocols
• Knowledge of contrast administration protocols and injector operation
• Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations
• Strong communication and prioritization skills
• Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes
• Verify patient identification and orders, and prepare patients for exams
• Review and evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
• Administer contrast media under physician or radiologist supervision and provide related patient education
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with other care providers following procedures
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques
• Maintain accurate records of procedures and any adverse reactions or incidents
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, and QC programs
• May assist in training students and other radiology technologists on protocols and procedures
• Background check and drug screen results required, with reporting to the lab within 24 hours of assignment commitment
• Returning Intermountain employees must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before eligibility for a travel assignment
