Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Hours: 12 hours/day, 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care, focusing on patient comfort, education, and satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring and precepting team members, and participating in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
Participate in practice governance and comply with regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
Acute care nursing experience
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
Experience in supervisory roles
Experience in Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, and Orthopedics
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information

This position requires adherence to evidence-based practice and participation in ongoing professional development.
Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
