• 8 weeks

Unit Overview

• Women’s Services unit with labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• LDRP, OBED, and NICU beds on the unit
• No techs or unit secretaries
• Regular staff may be expected to float within the facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS
• AWHONN
• NRP
• Experience with shoulder dystocia
• Experience with postpartum hemorrhage
• Experience with obstetric emergencies
• Experience with fetal monitoring
• Experience with inductions including Pitocin and cervidil
• Experience with vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
• Post Partum experience

Key Experience / Skills

• Labor and delivery experience, including laboring and recovering the mother and receiving and transitioning the newborn
• Experience with fetal monitoring and inductions
• Experience with shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage is preferred

Procedures / Clinical Exposure

• C-sections
• Circumcisions
• Intra-uterine monitoring
• Vacuum or forceps-assisted deliveries

Schedule

• Full-time, 3 shifts per week
• Rotating weekends and holidays

Additional Notes

• Pink and/or brown scrubs are required per unit policy
• The team includes experienced RNs who can serve as resources and preceptors
