Contract Length: 13 weeks

Level 2 Trauma Center with 4 critical care bays
Emergency Department (ED) with 36 weekly guaranteed hours, shift from 3 PM to 3 AM
Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics (pediatric patients approximately 5%)
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
Equipment includes ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro telecomputer, and handheld Care Aware devices
Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems: Omnicell, EPIC, SBAR
Teleneurology support for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital
No Pediatric ICU on site; pediatric critical patients are transferred out

Provide nursing care in a non-trauma emergency department setting
Manage and interpret dysrhythmias, including care for ventilated patients
Perform triage duties
Required to float to ED holding area as needed
No call requirements
Weekend schedule is not guaranteed off, but efforts are made to provide a fair schedule

Valid RN license in Maine
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with ED experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
