Unit Information

Emergency Department at a Free Standing Emergency Department (FSED)
52 beds
Staff per shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel provider per pod
Patient ratios: Average 3:1; low acuity 5:1; Pediatrics use team nursing
Equipment: Alaris infusion pumps
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Work Schedule

36 hours per week
Shift times typically 7 PM to 7 AM

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
Acute Care experience
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training
Experience in traveling or working at large healthcare facilities

Preferred Qualifications

ENPC certification
Experience with Meditech EMR
Experience working in facilities larger than 52 beds

Typical Procedures Performed

IV starts and medication administration
Sedations
Pediatric care
