Job Opportunity: First Assist - OR

Location

• Thousand Oaks, California

Employment Type

• Travel contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Monday-Thursday, 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
  or
• Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
• Approximately 36 hours per week
• Overtime may be required to finish cases
• No regular weekends or on-call specified

Unit Information

• 9 Operating Rooms
• Staff: 50 total

  • Day shift: 1 CNC, 7 RNs, 7 surgical techs
  • Night shift: 1 CNC/RN, 1 surgical tech
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Equipment: DaVinci Robot
• EMR system: Meditech
• Floating between main OR and a surgical hospital nearby

Typical Procedures

• Lumbar and cervical spine procedures
• Spinal fusion and instrumentation cases
• Robotic general, gynecological, and urological procedures
• Craniotomy and neurosurgery procedures

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of First Assist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• RNFA certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Spine and neurosurgery instrument experience
• CNOR certification
• Strong communication skills and ability to build physician relationships
