• Family Birth Center (L&D RP)
• 3 rooms
• May cross over to MedSurg if full
• Floating: help out in MedMed primarily for tasking
• First to float

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California
• 2+ years of Labor & Delivery experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• Adv-AWHONN
• COVID vaccine certification

• Ratios: 1:1 or 1:4
• Charge nurse: yes
• Nurse aides: no
• Tele: no
• Vents: no
• IV team: no
• RT 24/7: yes
• Pharmacy 24/7: not 24/7
• Holidays: work in perm staff rotation
• Scrub color: Ceil Blue, hospital issued
• Common patient type: L&D RP
• 150–175 births per year
• May be the only L&D nurse on site
• During c-sections, expected to care for baby with assistance from RT and anesthesia
• 36 weeks and less are usually sent out
