Overview

• Role: LDRP RN
• Location: Westminster, Colorado
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 36 per week

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• STABLE Certification

Unit Details

• Unit: L&D/PP/MB
• 15 L&D beds
• 2 OR suites on the unit for C-sections
• 3 triage beds
• 18 postpartum beds
• Around 160–200 deliveries per month

Clinical Details

• Common patient types include preeclampsia, diabetes, no prenatal care, and drug use
• RNs are required to titrate drips
• Common titratable drip: Pitocin
• Charge nurse helps with triage
• OB is in house, NNP is in house, and neonatology is 30 minutes out
• Anesthesia is in house 24/7
• RT equipment is available, mostly for NICU
• Tele room monitors tele strips; Phillips monitors are used
• EFM system: OBIX

Scheduling and Work Conditions

• Self-scheduling is allowed
• Weekend requirement: 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
• Holiday coverage is as needed
• If not needed, the clinician may be placed on call for the remainder of the shift
• Floating is between LDRP; in an extreme need, may float within Zone 3: OCH, LUH, SAH, SAN
• Unit orientation is 2 shifts
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation even if first-day modules are remote
• If low censused, the RN remains on call and available to come in if census changes
