Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in an acute care hospital setting with 320 staffed beds.
Schedule: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM to 5:00 PM).
On-call requirement: 7 days on call per 2-week pay period, including 2 nights per week (post-shift) and 1 weekend every 2 weeks; weekends may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs.
Neuro skills highly preferred; if neuro skills are present, call duties alternate between STEMI and neuro; otherwise, only STEMI call.
EPIC electronic health record experience is required.
Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
Guaranteed hours with the possibility of being called off once per two-week pay period.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
Minimum 1.5 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
EPIC electronic health record experience.

Certifications & Competencies

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.

Health & Safety Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
Fit mask test required for travel nurses (valid within 1 year or completed onsite).
Immunizations/vaccinations required or acceptable declinations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B – vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; must be updated annually.
9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable).
Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.

Background & Documentation Requirements

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
Social Security Card (as applicable).
Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must include SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and national sex offender checks, education verification, and motor vehicle record if applicable.
Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; 7 years for advanced practice nurses/subcontractors.
Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
NURSYS license verification required for all RNs.

Acute care hospital with a variety of clinical departments.
Charting system: Meditech.

Scrub color for RNs: Royal Blue.

Additional Notes

Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
Scheduling accommodations and block schedules are at manager discretion.
Return to office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission.
Candidates must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules as required.

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with prior travel experience who are comfortable with on-call duties and working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
