Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Batavia, New York
• 37-bed med/surg tele unit
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Staffing ratio: 1:9 on all shifts
• Float required to other med/surg unit
• Weekend coverage: every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per month
• Local candidates are not accepted; must live more than 75 miles away
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous charge experience

Clinical Notes

• Typical med/surg telemetry unit
• Patient population is mostly elderly
• Common diagnoses include respiratory, cardiac, GI, and neuro conditions
• Ortho patients may overflow to the unit
• Care delivery model uses teams of 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT for up to 9 patients
• Modified teams are used when complete teams are not available

Additional Requirements

• Navy blue and white scrubs, any combination of those colors
