Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse with potential to float to related units including Emergency Department.
- Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
- Shift rotation may be adjusted based on hospital operational needs.
- Must work at least every other holiday.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio.
- Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Required Licenses & Certifications
- ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety exam (SafeMedicate) must be passed during orientation.
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
- Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required with official documentation:
- Tdap (every 10 years)
- Measles (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Mumps (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Seasonal flu vaccination (required annually; no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; annual updates required.
- Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
Background & Verification
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- Background check including FCRA-compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required prior to start and updated annually.
- Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; facility will conduct additional fingerprinting.
- Nursys license verification within 30 days of start.
- Employment application with 3 years prior work history including at least 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar area.
- Two professional references from within one year of start date (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
Orientation & Training
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
- Medication administration and ECG competency exams during orientation with required passing scores.
- SafeMedicate prep materials provided before orientation.
- Must acknowledge and comply with facility safety and pass/fail testing policies.
Additional Notes
- Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams.
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID at all times during assignment.
- Facility accommodates latex allergies; notification required to ensure latex-free supplies.
