Surgical Tech Position - Lakewood, Colorado

• Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
• Unit: Operating Room (OR Tech)
• Number of Suites: 17
• Average Cases per Day: 37
• Common Case Types: Orthopedic Trauma/Joints, Robotics, Neuro/Spine, Plastics, ENT, Urology, Level 1 Trauma

Scheduling & Call Requirements

• Shift options: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, or 7a-5p (mostly self-scheduled; generally no block scheduling)
• Call requirements:

  • Weeknights: 3-4 shifts every 6 weeks
  • Weekends: No call unless assistance is needed
  • Holidays: Call required
• Call response time: 2 hours
• No floating within the facility; floating within the zone only in extreme need
• Dress code: Blue surgical scrubs provided

Orientation

• Unit-specific orientation: 2 days
• Night shifts during orientation: 7p-7a with minimal to no call
• Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote

Required Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Colorado
• Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NBSTSA certification
• CO DORA
• Valid Driver’s License

Additional Information

• A valid driver’s license must be submitted
• Radius requirement: within 60 miles
• Hiring process includes profile review and interview with unit manager
• Call-out policy: One call-out allowed every 4 weeks; a warning will be issued before notifying agency/recruiter
• Notice requirements to avoid penalty fees:

  • 2 weeks’ notice required if backing out after accepting the assignment
  • 5 days’ notice required if backing out prior to start date
