Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location

• Garden City, Kansas

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Setting

• Rural hospital
• Labor and delivery / postpartum / mother-baby unit

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• Intermediate fetal monitoring
• Labor and delivery experience
• Couplet care experience
• Ability to circulate in the OR
• Ability to titrate pitocin
• Ability to float between labor and delivery, postpartum, mother-baby, and helping hands as needed

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Every other weekend required
• Call or standby may be required per policy
• Orientation includes 1-2 unit-specific shifts
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation

Unit Details

• 12 LDRP rooms
• 1 OR suite on the unit for C-sections
• 1 triage bed
• About 1.5 births per day
• Charge nurse typically has an assignment
• No adult telemetry on the unit
• Fetal monitoring is required
• No OB/neonatologist in house 24/7
• No respiratory therapy equipment on the unit
• 1 surgical tech on the unit
