Location: Santa Cruz, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work setting includes 2 ultrasound rooms equipped with Philips Epiq Elite ultrasound devices.
Typical workload: 10-15 studies per day.
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used: Cerner & McKesson PACS.
Shift: Primarily 1st shift (7:00 AM start, last patient at 3:00 PM, last scan at 1:30 PM).
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
Weekend call required: Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM; Friday and Saturday nights from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
Holiday coverage includes 7 holidays with 3 holidays plus night call. Call is not always required but may be needed for call-outs.
Orientation: 3-4 shifts floor-specific orientation provided.
Scrub color: Teal.

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
Active certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RDMS-AB (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdomen)
- RDMS-OB/GYN (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - OB/GYN)
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) preferred but not mandatory.

Experience with a wide variety of ultrasound studies including:
- OB (non-high risk) focusing on fetal viability and cervical length measurement.
- Vascular studies such as arterial, carotid, DVT, segmental pressures with ABI, aorta (infrequent), and scrotal exams.
- Abdominal, pelvic, and kidney ultrasounds.
- Transvaginal ultrasounds.
- Neonatal brain scans to detect bleeds.
Additional skills beneficial:
- Ability to perform thoracentesis or paracentesis with local anesthesia.
- Experience with Trophon probe disinfection system.
High ER volume environment with a diverse patient population.
