Job Overview
- Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab RN
- Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum contract length)
- Facility Type: Teaching hospital, Level 1 Trauma center, busy Level II trauma screening
- Unit: Cath Lab (3 main beds, plus 1 EP and 1 Hybrid bed for vascular & cardiac cases)
- Cases per day: 10-25 (Interventional, EP lab, peripherals, mitral clip, TAVR, IABP, Emtala placement)
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (6:00 am - 6:30 pm), Monday-Friday
- Call: 6 to 10 shifts per schedule (30-minute response time required), 8-12 days/month depending on month
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holidays: Included in rotation
Experience & Certifications
- Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of core experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or related specialty
- Trauma Experience: Level 1 Trauma experience required; will also consider busy Level II trauma experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Required for ED and Neuro ICU, but not explicitly stated for Cath Lab
- Certifications:
- RN: Arizona RN license, BLS, ACLS required
- Tech: Arizona ARRT and MRTBE, BLS, ACLS required
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam: Required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance; max 2 attempts allowed
- EMR Experience: Cerner and Xper required
Job Details
- Orientation: Weekly orientations on Mondays; 2 days floor-specific orientation on the job
- Team: RNs circulate, Techs must be able to scrub
- Charge Nurse: Yes
- Nurse Aides: Radiology techs, BLS certified, cover Endo and CVOR
- Equipment: Phillips telemetry, Siemens equipment
- Call Response Time: 30 minutes
- Parking: Assigned parking with shuttle to facility; night shift parking in garage
- Facility Notes: Teaching hospital with nursing students; no facial piercings or unnatural hair colors allowed
- Other: Cannot work two contracts simultaneously within this system; must be off CommonSpirit as permanent staff for 12 months before travel assignment
Additional Requirements
- Must complete onboarding by 1 pm CST Wednesday before start date (no pending items allowed)
- No contract shorter than 13 weeks will be considered
- Travel teams must have their own vehicles
- Cath Lab will not consider tech/RN teams
