Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location

• Clyde, North Carolina
• Approximately 20 miles from Asheville
• Close to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and regional cities (e.g., Pigeon Forge, Knoxville)

Employment Type

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac specialty
• 22 beds with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Adult patients including cardiac observation, post-cardiac cath lab patients, and cardioversions
• Equipment includes telemetry monitoring
• Electronic Health Record system: Paragon

Schedule & Hours

• PM shift
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Float requirements apply

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience in a cardiac specialty, including within the last year
• Stepdown experience
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Skills & Experience

• Step-down or ICU experience is a must
• Experience with cardiac patient care and common cardiac diagnoses/treatments
• Team-oriented with good communication skills and flexibility

Orientation

• Bi-weekly orientation sessions available

Dress Code

• Scrubs: Navy color required
• Offensive tattoos and non-facility tops are not acceptable attire
