Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level 2 Trauma Center with 4 critical care bays
• Provides 24/7 Emergency Care (Trauma Level III)
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Patient ratio approximately 1:4
• Unit uses Cerner EHR system and equipment including ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro tele computer, and handheld Care Aware devices
• Teleneurology support for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital
• No PICU on site; pediatric ICU patients are transferred out

Position Details

• Specialty: Emergency Department (ED)
• Shift: 10:45 AM – 11:15 PM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: No guaranteed weekends off, but fair scheduling is prioritized
• Call requirements: None
• Float requirements: Travelers required to float to ED holding

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license for Maine
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing
• Required certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BCLS/BLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support/Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Experience with Cerner EHR, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), charge nurse experience, and NIH stroke scale preferred
• Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ventilated patients, and triage in a non-trauma emergency department setting
