Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Facility: Mission Hospital (HCA Healthcare)
Unit: Emergency Department (ER)

Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Staffing: Techs available for cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage; unit clerks on days and nights
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; schedule must meet department needs
• Floating Policy: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
• Patient Experience: AIDET communication, respectful behavior, ongoing patient updates, information boards updated throughout visit

Required Certifications (Must have before or on hire date)

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• CPI
• NIHSS
• ENPC (within 90 days of hire)

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
• At least 1 year experience in an ER setting
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs required

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (Travel assignment)
