Job Summary
- Provide professional nursing care to orthopedic and medical/surgical patients.
- Responsible for patient care during assigned shifts using nursing processes and current standards.
- Perform initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation to support continuity of care.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and healthcare team members.
- Provide education to patients on wound care, mobility, medication management, self-care, and care transitions.
- Delegate and monitor healthcare team interventions.
- Manage orthopedic traction devices and surgical traction for mobility and wound care.
- Handle wound appliances including wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Minimum of 1 year of orthopedic nursing experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
