Job Details

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Days
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend

  • Day shift: Saturday and Sunday every other weekend
  • Night shift: Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation
• Floating: Yes, within scope to Telemetry
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Locals Accepted: No (local radius rule: 75 miles)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience as a Registered Nurse (Telemetry)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
• Other certifications may be required based on unit (verify during onboarding)

Licensure

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Missouri (NURSYS verification required)
• Temporary licenses accepted with approval
• Primary source verification of professional license required

Compliance & Background Checks

• Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide and nationwide)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks quarterly
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required
• State-specific searches and highway patrol checks as applicable
• Fingerprinting required for assignments in Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not applicable here)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold acceptable)
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination required
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (09/30 - 04/01)

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) through WorkRamp
• Compliance with facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fingernail policy, and confidentiality
• Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements must be completed prior to start
