SICU Travel/Contract RN

Location

  • New Orleans, Louisiana

Schedule

  • Day shift, 3x12 hours
  • 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • 36 hours per week

Contract Length

  • 8 weeks

Job Overview

  • High-acuity ICU role
  • Patient ratio: 1:2
  • Float to other ICUs and SDUs
  • No block scheduling requests

Relevant Clinical Experience

  • SICU skills include general post-op care for surgical recovery patients
  • Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy
  • Preferred experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • SICU - Surgical Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
  • SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Continous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Experience with Epic

Additional Assignment Expectations

  • May be assigned to an emergency team during an emergency event and may be expected to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team
  • Must be comfortable with emergency-event assignment expectations as part of the travel contract
