Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Rotating shifts available (Nights OR rotating Day/Night)
  • Up to 10 days Return to Office (RTO) per 13-week contract, with additional RTO prorated based on contract length

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) nursing experience within the last year
  • Experience with:
    • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
    • Swan-Ganz catheter
    • Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) devices including Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Left/Right Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD/RVAD), and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
  • EPIC electronic charting experience required
  • First-time travel nurses accepted
  • Candidates must not currently reside in Utah (locals not accepted)

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • E-Verify compliance required
  • Background check within 6 months prior to start, including:
    • Social Security trace
    • County, nationwide, and federal criminal checks
    • National Sex Offender Registry check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire and updated monthly
  • 11-panel drug screen including MDMA within 30 days of start (valid for 2 years)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Annual respirator medical clearance and fit testing if respirator use is required

Immunization & Health Requirements

  • Flu vaccine required annually (medical/religious exemptions considered case-by-case)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): 2 vaccines or positive titer required
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer showing immunity required (vaccine series alone not accepted)
  • Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required for RNs
  • Candidates with latex allergies will be accommodated with non-latex gloves

Additional Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
  • Three professional references required, including at least one supervisor/manager reference
  • Annual skills checklist required
  • Candidates must be prepared for rotating shifts and night work
  • All health documentation must be submitted and approved prior to start
