Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Edmond, Oklahoma
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

Med-Surg ICU setting
Preference for skills in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities, if required
No block scheduling accommodation
Local candidates not accepted (must live more than 75 miles from facility)
Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: no more than 5 days

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in Telemetry units
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current and valid driver’s license
Skills and experience in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)

Required Documentation & Compliance

7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
Education verification with transcript/diploma matching highest degree
OFAC sanctions list search updated monthly
Physical exam within 1 year stating good health and no physical limitations
Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B: completed series, positive titer, or declination (declinations require annual renewal)
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox (medical exemptions only)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: valid within 10 years (Tdap mandatory for certain units)
- Flu vaccine required annually (or approved medical/religious exemption)
- COVID vaccination strongly preferred (declinations accepted with agency form)
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, including marijuana (facility federally funded; positive marijuana may cause cancellation)
Fit mask testing completed onsite on first day
Completion of facility-specific orientation and training modules, including patient care orientation and EPIC training if no recent experience
Completion of required competency exams and annual updates: medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG, core parts I-III, conscious sedation (if applicable)
References: two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
Work history verification covering 10 years, including explanations for gaps over 30 days

Additional Notes

Candidates must complete facility-required acknowledgments and policy forms prior to start (e.g., Code of Ethical Business Conduct, Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy, Information Access Agreement)
Vehicle information documentation required before clearance
Fingerprinting and state offender registration clearance required prior to start
Candidates may be pulled from assignment if required exams or documentation are not current or completed

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with critical care and telemetry skills who are open to travel assignments and meet strict compliance and documentation requirements.
