Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Evenings)
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Evenings (8 hours per day)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
- Provide direction and oversight to licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in various clinical settings with diverse populations.
- Educate patients’ families and support discharge and aftercare planning.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
- Document and report all necessary patient information according to policies.
- Monitor and report any potential safety risks to physicians.
- Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and resource management.
- May be responsible for training direct care staff, medication oversight, scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
- Uphold professional image and organizational values including integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients.
- Support and promote a recovery-focused, person-centered approach in community residential settings.
- May function as a charge nurse.
- Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Michigan.
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience.
- Pediatric experience required.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and enthusiasm for behavioral health programs.

- Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week with potential for additional shifts (up to 48 hours), though extra shifts are not guaranteed.
