Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Dalton, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM)
• Alternatively, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
• 1-2 call shifts per week (usually one; additional as needed for vacations)
• 1-2 weekends per month (usually one; additional as needed for vacations)
• Holiday call required
• Option to Voluntary Time Off (VTO) twice a month if needed due to low volume

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals
• Education verification upon client request
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
• Fit mask test to be completed onsite during orientation; must be renewed annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually (exceptions apply for LTC/LTAC settings)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (10/31 – 3/31); declination not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

• References:

  • 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel nursing positions
• Skills checklist for applicable unit, updated annually
• Dress code review required
• Compliance with facility-specific exemption forms for flu and COVID-19 vaccines (subject to approval)
• Must adhere to a 60-mile radius rule (no local hires)

Notes

• This position supports a pediatric program in development, hence PALS certification is beneficial.
• Prior travel experience is strongly preferred to ensure readiness for travel nursing demands.
• Call shifts and weekend coverage are part of the role, with some flexibility based on staffing needs.
