Contract

  • 13 weeks
  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Evening and night shifts

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • 2 years of ED experience
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC

Schedule

  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday
  • Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance
  • May be assigned to a single facility for the week or placed on just-in-time assignment 1–2 hours before shift start

Floating

  • Must float throughout Zone 3 within a 60-mile radius of the zone’s city center
  • No home base facility

Unit Details

  • ER/ED float role
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5 based on acuity
  • Charge nurse takes an assignment
  • No monitor techs; nurse must be able to read and interpret telemetry
  • RT is available 24/7
  • Separate psych/seclusion rooms are not available
  • ER holds are mixed in with the ER
  • Average daily volume varies by location, about 40–168 patients per day

  • Candidate interview is with the MedSol clinical team only
  • Must submit a 2-week notice to avoid a back-out penalty fee
  • Cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract
  • Traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating feasible
