Unit Information
- Unit: 3rd Floor, 25 beds
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 5-6 patients per nurse
- Nights: 6 patients per nurse
- Staffing Support:
- Days: Unit Secretary, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
- Nights: 2-3 PCTs
- Equipment Used: Sara Steady, Wound Vac, Telemetry, Virtual Sitter equipment
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday), flexible weekdays
- Floating Policy: PRN, typically floats between Medical-Surgical units
- Patient Experience Focus: BSSR (Bedside Shift Report), Hourly Rounding
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Skills and Procedures
- IV insertion and Foley catheter placement performed on unit
Dress Code
- Black or Royal Blue scrubs required
