Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Mother Baby Unit
Location: 5th Floor, 509 Biltmore Avenue
Beds: 34 private couplet rooms
Staff per Shift:
- Day: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
- Night: 1 charge nurse, 11 RNs, 1 PCT/secretary
Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 3-4 couplets
Equipment: Alaris pumps, Bilirubin blankets/lights
EMR System: Cerner

Job Description

Provide nursing care on the Mother Baby Unit, including post-partum care
Typical procedures include circumcisions
Floating assignments may include Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Dress code: Navy blue/white scrubs
Weekend shifts required; no on-call

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Post Partum nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Preferred Qualifications

Prior travel nursing experience
Experience caring for patients on Magnesium Sulfate post-delivery
STABLE certification (for neonatal care)
Team player with a passion for teaching

Additional Notes

This is a backfill position
The unit is recognized for nursing excellence and patient safety standards
The hospital is a Level II trauma center with specialized pediatric and cardiac services
